began his career as an agent for
Farmers Union Insurance. Over the
next ten years, Lyle received
awards as the top producer in
Montana and became an honoree
of the Mile High Summit, a
prestigious national sales award.
In 2002 The DeShaw Agency
expanded their business by
purchasing the Ball Agency, a
competing insurance office in
Plentywood. They also bought the
Ball Agency office building, which
became the office headquarters for
the DeShaw Agency.

Lyle and Bernie DeShaw moved to Plentywood in 1978 to start their family and their life
together. Lyle began an oilfield company called LD&BM Services. This company
became one of the most successful roustabout businesses in eastern Montana.
